What is Plan ItTM?
Plan ItTM is a feature on your American Express® Card which allows you to pay for your purchases over time through equal monthly installments, tailored to fit your needs.
Plan It provides flexibility and control, so you can buy now and pay later while taking the guess work out of your payments.
With Plan It, you have the unique opportunity to choose how you want to pay.
Whether you’re looking to plan one specific purchase, or an eligible amount from your
most recent statement, take advantage of added control over your payments.
Pick one purchase from your most recent charges or recent statement to place into a plan for 3, 6 or 12 months for a fixed monthly fee1. Eligible purchases must be a minimum of $100.
Example:
Let’s say you purchase a flight and would like to pay that purchase off over time. With Plan It, you’ll be able to fly now, and pay off your flight in equal monthly installments that fit within your travel budget.
For added flexibility, you can pay down a portion of your most recent statement balance over time. Eligible plans must be a minimum of $100. Spend with confidence knowing you can control your payments with Plan ItTM.

Let’s say you’re planning an unforgettable vacation. You recently booked all flights, accommodations and activities. 1. When you create an installment plan, you will be charged a monthly installment fee. The monthly installment fee percentage will be disclosed to you during plan creation. This is not a promotional or special rate offer. The fee charged is comparable to the interest you would have paid if you carried this balance on your account, without being in an installment plan. Please see the Plan It (American Express Installment Program) section in your Cardmember Agreement or the Program Terms and Conditions for more details. Plan ItTM is currently not available in Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI or Nunavut.
2. Your ability to create each new installment plan will depend on an assessment of eligibility made at the time you seek to create an installment plan. In order to create a new installment plan, your account must be in good standing and you must have a minimum $100 purchase or statement balance on your eligible card. Any transactions related to funds advances and balances at special rates of interest will not be eligible unless we make a special offer to you. We may also limit or otherwise restrict your ability to participate in the installment program based on your account's available credit or for any other reason.
